After buying some of the famous gingerbread at the Grasmore Gingerbread shop, I needed to find a place to sit and devour. It was a hot day in the village, and shady spots were few and far between - we ended up sitting in the grounds of a hotel in the centre of the village where we enjoyed the shade of the trees. I ate the gingerbread and then did this drawing. A happy memory from a lovely day.

Sam Marshall

My name is Sam,  I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I moved back to the countryside after living in London for 22 years and I now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too! 

When I'm not making work/ running workshops / coaching from my studio then I'm travelling around the UK and Europe with my sketchbook.
