The Deer Wood

Behind my cottage and studio lies a magical wood and every day Marple and I go for long walks or short runs and it never fails to delight – we often encounter herds of deer who, alarmed to see us, run off at such a pace. However, one morning we turned a corner and came across a beautiful deer who was enjoying a good old scratch – oblivious to us. It was such a joy to witness that I came straight back and quickly sketched the scene from memory. This print is the result of that encounter.

I print everything from my studio using a small wooden hand press and my etching press. The finished result is unique and original with no two prints being alike.
